How to pack for a move

Packing is never a picnic regardless of its purpose. A lot of guides out there will try to show you how to pack for a move, using nice animations that can often remind you of the airplane safety instructions but lack the professional touch, which is so important when you plan to take your whole life belongings for a thousand mile trip.

Make a moving list:

A few or at least a couple of chaotic days are ahead of you.

Even if you are not the most organized person, a list of all your items will help you put order into the packing process and make sure you are not wasting your time and effort.

Important none the less, you will want to send this list to your house removals company so they will know what to expect on the moving day and to come prepared in terms of labor and space.

Now here is the trick – make a priority system and mark your items by priority.

For example: Priority 1 can be packed right away (winter cloths in the summer, books, attic, etc..).

Priority 2 should be packed 2 days before the move (china, toys, garden furniture, etc..).

Priority 3 to be packed last (Important Items you would want to use until the moving day)

You can make your own priorities by your needs and shouldn’t only use my example, take an hour to talk to your partners about how to pack for a move, it will relieve you and them from the stress and tension.

It will also help you determine what is their priority as you don’t want to create tension by making all the decisions for them.

Teach your whole family or friends how to pack for a move and make them involved so you can turn it into a fun and connecting experience.

This list will make your life so much easier.
